WHY NOT CONSIDER AN APARTMENT IN TORRVIEJA?

Until 1802, the town of Torrevieja in Spain was nothing but a guard tower – Torre vieja meaning “old tower” – and a few labourers’ cottages. However, in recent years it has expanded dramatically as tourists flock there now every year. In fact, the town has a population of around 100,000, over half of whom are not Spanish. There is a great ethnic mix of British, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch, French, Belgians, Moroccans, and even Russians living there.

During the 1980’s and 1990’s there was a Spanish television programme which was a competition similar to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and for which the star prize was a superb apartment in Torrevieja which was given to the winner. It is said that the increasingly rare Spaniards who are to be found in the town are mostly past winners of the game show who now meet up from time to time for a drink and to discuss their appearances on the show.

Estepona In Southern Spain Is Booming

If you love to play golf and you love to live in the sun and you are also looking for an investment opportunity, why not consider villas for sale in Estepona in Southern Spain? The town faces the coast and is backed by the Sierra Bermeja mountains. It is approximately halfway between Sotogrande and Marbella, being 15 – 20 minutes’ drive from each, and is only an hour’s drive from Malaga Airport and 40 minutes from Gibraltar.

Estepona has no less than six golf courses, with another five in Sotogrande just 15 minutes’ drive away. How many more golf courses do you need?!!

Fair enough: it’s just possible that you are one of those strange individuals who has no interest whatsoever in golf, but that’s no problem at all. There is no Spanish law which says that you have to play golf once a week. But Estepona has a whole lot more going for it than just golf courses.

Consider Investing In The Spanish Property Market

If you are like most people with money to invest, you like to diversify your portfolio, and of course that makes perfect sense. You may have a fair amount in stocks and shares, but you may also be putting some money into cryptos. Certainly, cryptos could make you a small fortune overnight, but then again, they could lose you a small fortune. Of course, it is always good to have some money in gold and silver, which always do well when stocks crash, and which, despite the present state of the markets, could well be about to happen again. Certainly, it is long overdue.

Of course, property is always a safe bet for the long term, but it doesn’t have to be in the UK market. Have you considered investing in property overseas? If not, why not? Many UK investors are turning their attention towards Europe, and in particular Spain, for overseas property investment for a number of reasons.

Spain has a lot of advantages, not the least of which is that it is only a couple of hours away. The Mediterranean coast has the perfect climate year-round, and in some areas, there has been a considerable amount of development over the last few years. It is also a place that Britons and other nationalities are flocking to more and more, both for a holiday destination and for overseas investment.

Take Orihuela in Alicante for instance. It is an ancient city that dates back to Roman times and sits at the foot of the Sierra de Orihuela Mountains in Alicante and is a favourite destination for holidaymakers. There are blue flag beaches and three major golf courses within a few minutes’ drive.

You will find a number of Orihuela villas for sale and one of these would make the perfect holiday home for you and your family, but also the perfect holiday home for many other families. If you invest in a villa here, you will have access to an almost endless stream of tourists from the UK and elsewhere who are only too desperate to rent a holiday villa rather than stay in a hotel.
