If you are looking for a property in the Costa del Sol you could do a lot worse than Estepona. You get a lot of values for your buck with properties here.
Estepona is in between Marbella (20 minutes away) and Sotogrande (15 minutes) and Gibraltar airport is only 40 minutes away. The town is on the coast and has the Sierra Bermeja mountains behind it. Climb these, which incidentally have excellent hiking trails, and you can see Gibraltar and the North African coast in the distance.
Estepona has a quaint old town with narrow streets and houses bedecked with flowers. It also has a port and palm trees along the front together with sandy beaches. However, the town is less developed than Marbella, and as a result the beaches are less crowded, and the bars and restaurants are cheaper.
